Increasing Your Chances Of Getting A Game Testing Job

By Musa Aykac

A lot of us dream of having the opportunity to play computer games all day and get paid for it too wouldn't that be wonderful? Most of us would be convinced that this dream job is something that could never be ours despite the fact that we would absolutely love it. It is sad that most potential game testers will give up even before they've started hunting for this type of work, because the fact is that if they stuck at it they would likely find something.

Although the competition for jobs in the game testing industry is quite fierce, the tips below should help you to improve your chances of success.

- Although you don't have to have any particular qualifications to be a game tester, it would help if you had a background in computer programming or graphic design. If you intend to study this at university make sure you mention this, and if you have already completed any courses on graphic design or programming make sure that you highlight this on your resume.

- You will have to be able to produce concise, clear technical reports if you get a job as a game tester so you need to be aware of this. Showing that you have the ability to write well is one way for you to improve your chances of being successful when applying for a job as a game tester.

- Spend a lot of time on getting your resume and cover letter looking the best it can be. If you don't know how a cover letter and resume should look then do a bit of research to find out. Never be too quick to compose these things as this is all that the people offering these jobs will have to go on; it is therefore vital that you get this right.

Take some time to go over this to make sure that your resume and cover letter do not have any grammar or spelling mistakes.
